Available in all DESelect Segment editions.
To start using Schedule Selections in DESelect Segment, you need to install an additional Installed Package in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
This second Installed Package allows DESelect Segment to connect to Salesforce Marketing Cloud to execute scheduled tasks, such as running Selections without a user present. In order to install it, you'll need to be an SFMC admin in your environment.
Installing the DESelect Automations Package
1. Hover over your user in SFMC, and go to Setup
Note: if you don't see this option, it's because you don't have the necessary permissions to continue with the installation. Involve an SFMC admin from your team to proceed.
2. In the left panel, to Platform Tools > Apps > Installed Packages
3. In the top right corner, click on New
4. Enter the following name and description, and click Save
- Name: DESelect Automations
- Description: DESelect Segment Installed Package for Server 2 Server Authentication
5. Inside the package components section, click Add Component
6. In the form that pops up, select API Integration > Next
7. Server-to-Server > Next
8. In the scope page, click all these checkboxes:
- Automation > Automations:
- Read
- Write
- Execute
- Automation > Journeys:
- Read
- Write
- Execute
- Activate/Stop/Pause/Resume/Send/Schedule
- Contacts > List and Subscribers:
- Read
- Write
- Data > Data Extensions:
- Read
- Write
Then, click Save.
9. Back in the Package details page, click on the Access tab
10. Toggle on the Enable Integration button for ALL Business Units in which DESelect Segment is used
Note: you can also enable it for all existing BUs, so you don't have to come back here if you expand DESelect to other BUs in the future
11. Now, we have to add some configurations on our side. Go back to the Details tab, and copy the Client Id and Client Secret of your component
12. Send us an email to support@deselect.com with this information, and we'll finish the setup.
