Yes, using DESelect Engage’s Import Journeys functionality, you can.
With Import Journey, DESelect Engage can:
1. Scan a given Journey and automatically identificate the send activities inside it.
2. Generate Sends automatically in Engage for each of these communications, or the selected ones.
3. Creating a new version of the Journey, and adding the Engage components to it, so you don't need to do it manually.
Important Note: If you import an active Journey, DESelect will generate a new version in the same Journey with the Engage components configured; however, when you import a Journey in the draft stage, it will be overwritten.
What happens in SFMC when you import a Journey to DESelect Engage?
The primary benefits of importing a Journey, are:
1. DESelect Engage will automatically detect and create the necessary Sends, and edit the Journey to adapt it accordingly, without the user having to manually interact with it.
2. Additionally, Engage will generate a copied Journey as a backup, so the user will always be able to check how the Journey was before importing it.
To achieve these objectives, DESelect Engage will execute the following action depending on the status of the imported Journey.
The imported Journey is in draft mode | The imported Journey is active |
If the Journey doesn't have any active version, the draft version will be overwritten to add the Saturation Control activities defined in the import process. |
If the Journey has an active version, DESelect will generate a new version, adding the Saturation Control activities defined in the import process. |
In both cases, Engage will generate a copy of the original Journey as a backup. In this version, DESelect will add an Engage Watch component in it. This copy has the same name as the original Journey, but with ‘- Copy’ added at the end of the name. |

In this overview, you'll see that each Journey you have imported has 2 options you can go to:
- The Draft Journey (1) is a backup of your original Journey before Engage added any change. This Journey has a "watch" component, meaning any change you make in it will be automatically reflected in the real Journey.
- The updated Journey (2), is the Journey you imported, but modified, adding the necessary Engage components. This is the Journey you should activate, and proceed with.
You can see below the Draft Journey (1) with the Engage Watch component added:
You can see below the Saturation Journey (2) with the Engage saturation components added, ready to be activated:
By pressing the icons below you will be redirected to Journey Builder and you will be able to see the Imported Journey’s configuration.
Note:
-
If a user deletes the Engage Watch component in the Draft Journey (1), the synchronization between the Saturation Journey (2) and the original Journey will be disrupted and any changes made in the Saturation Journey (2) will not be reflected in the original Journey.
