A Waterfall Selection is a series of Selections with Target Data Extensions that run one after the other. Optionally, a Target Data Extension from a Selection can directly be used as an input to the next Selection.
Waterfall Selection can be used to run correlated Selections one after the other. Moreover, it can also be used to split up large Selections into smaller ones and run them in a sequence that reduces the risk of time-outs.
Each selected Selection will be represented as a Step and there is no limitation on the number of steps that a user can create and run.
Once a Waterfall Selection has been run, the user will be provided with each step's total number of results chained down to the rest of the total number of results of the next steps after.
To start creating a Waterfall Selection, go to DESelect Segment Home page > Waterfall Selections.
Once you are in the Waterfall Selections pane, you can click on Create New, and start adding all the Selections that should be part of the Waterfall. Remember that each step will be run sequentially, only if the previous step is completed successfully.
After running your Waterfall Selection, you'll be able to see the number of records that you got in each step of the Waterfall:
