How to resolve “Cannot insert a NULL value into a non-nullable column” error?

“Cannot insert a NULL value into a non-nullable column” error is normally encountered in cases  where there is a nullable field mapped to a non-nullable field in the Output step. Meaning, that you mapped a field with empty value (nullable) into a field in the target Data Extension where it should always have a value (non-nullable), and therefore results cannot be stored.

How to resolve this?

1. Review the Target Data Extension fields looking for red or orange warning signs. These signs indicate null fields pointing at non-nullable target fields, and will help you find where the error could be.
   
   
   In this case, you can either;

• Change the source field that contain null values to a non-nullable one, so it doesn’t produce errors when writing the results in the target Data Extension field
• In Input step, create an 'Is not empty' filter on the corresponding field to avoid empty values being written in the target Data Extension field
• Modify the definition of the target Data Extension properties by clicking the pencil icon and make the target field nullable by removing the check on the nullable checkbox.
