Note: The scenario below uses data from the DESelect Demo Data Package.
Scenario: You want to email your Subscribers and have a Data Extension with emails of people you want to exclude from your campaign.
Watch a video tutorial on how to implement this scenario or follow the steps below.
For this scenario, we will be using the Data Extension DESELECT_DEMO_Emails To Exclude. To really test this scenario, you should add some of your Subscribers to this Data Extension before starting the steps described below.
1. Selection Criteria
On the selections overview screen, click on New to create a new selection.
Drag the _Subscribers data view to the Selected Data Extensions section.
Drag Data Extension DESELECT_DEMO_Emails To Exclude on top of the _Subscribers data view in the Selected Data Extensions section.
Create the relationship:
- Subscribers field: SubscriberKey
- Subscribers WITHOUT MATCHING DESELECT_DEMO_Emails To Exclude
- DESelect_DEMO_Emails To Exclude field: Email
2. Target Definition
Hit the Create Data Extension button, enter a name, eg. Subscribers without exclusions, and press Save.
Select the following fields by either double-clicking on them or dragging them to the section on the right:
- SubscriberKey from Subscribers
Click Save Data Extension and Create.
3. Preview
When you click Run Preview on the Preview screen, a results table will be shown with the field SubscriberKey from Subscribers.
The results table shows only Subscribers that were not in the DESELECT_DEMO_Emails To Exclude Data Extension.
