Yes, in DESelect Segment you can do this by using Filter Sets.
What are Filter Sets?
Filter Sets are predefined sets of Filters that can be created based on an individual Data Extension or a Data Set and its available fields.
Filter Sets can save you a good amount of time since they are reusable for all users, but can only be created by Administrators. Filter Sets can also be organized by putting them in categories.
How can you create a Filter Set?
Scenario
We need a list of customers with their orders excluding the customers that are males and live in Belgium or Holland, and with an order smaller than 5000 euros.
We will use the Data Set “Customers_Orders_EmailsToExclude” and create a Filter Set named “Exclusions” to exclude the group mentioned above from customers.
Note: Before starting with the creation of a Filter Set, please ensure that the Data Set that you will use contains all the fields that you want to include on your Filter Set. You can verify this by going to the Admin Panel > Data Sets.
Please know that this Filter Set can also be built on individual Data Extensions, but for our scenario, we will create our Filter Set based on a Data Set and assign it the category Non-BENELUX.
1. Optional: It is possible to organize Filter Sets in categories. If no category is chosen, the Filter Set category will be Uncategorized. Click here to read more about Filter Sets categories.
2. Go to the Admin Panel > Filter Set tab > New Filter Set button.
3. Now, you can name your Filter Set(a), select the category Non BENELUX(b), and select a Data Set(c & d) from the Available Data Sets section: all available Data Sets will be shown in the dropdown.
4. Click on the Select button to scan all the existing fields from the Data Extensions inside that Data Set.
Important Note: Should you need to use another Data Set instead, it is possible to remove the current one by clicking on the Clear button.
5. Click on the Edit Selected Filters button and the Selected Filters pop-up will appear.
6. Start filtering by using the fields from Available Filters, and drag-and-drop these to the Filters section.
You can also access the Data Extensions that are predefined for this: the Related Records section will be available at the bottom of the pop-up.
This pop-up will look exactly the same as the Filters section on the Selection Criteria page.
7. Lastly, click Save on the Edit Selected Filters pop-up and the Filter Set page.
Let’s now use our Filter Set in a Selection!
1. Create a new Selection.
2. Select a Data Set and drag-and-drop it into the Selected Data Extensions section.
The available Filter Sets related to this Data Set will automatically display under Filter Sets, see below:
3. Drag-and-drop the Filter Set on the Filters section and all the Filter Sets created earlier will appear:
Note: You will now be able to remove/ make any modifications to your Filters if needed.
