Restoring a broken Selection

Did you try to access a Selection and you were blocked by this error message: “Selected Data Extension cannot be found. Therefore, this Selection cannot be opened”?

You will not be able to access this broken Selection since it requires a Data Extension that is no longer in your system or has been renamed. 

How to fix a broken Selection?

You can fix this broken Selection by creating a new Data Extension with the same External Key and fields as the original one that is causing the issue. DESelect will detect that a new Data Extension with the same External Key is available, and will replace the dependencies of the old DE to the new one. 

1. Create a Data Extension with the same fields and External Key
2. Access the broken Selection and this message will appear on screen “Selection Auto-fix in progress…”. 
3. Once you are inside the Selection, a confirmation message in green will appear on your screen “This Selection was auto-fixed. Please click Save if you want to save the changes”.
4. Click Save.
